Utah Housing Corporation’s new First-Time Homebuyer Assistance Loan offers up to $20,000 to eligible buyers for use toward down payment or closing costs. This assistance is designed to make homeownership more accessible by easing upfront financial burdens. The loan is available to first-time homebuyers, providing flexible terms and low interest, and can be combined with other UHC mortgage programs like their full down payment assistance loan. By reducing initial out-of-pocket expenses, this program supports buyers in achieving stable, affordable homeownership.
Terms and Conditions Apply. The First-time Homebuyers Assistance Program is available to eligible Utah residents who have not owned a home in the past three years and have lived in Utah for at least 12 months prior to closing. Applicants must meet income limits set by the Utah Housing loan program and be credit-qualified for a mortgage loan purchased and serviced by the Utah Housing Corporation. The program offers up to $20,000 in assistance for newly constructed homes priced at $450,000 or less. Funds may be used for down payment, closing costs, or to buy down interest rates. The assistance is provided as a 0% interest, no-payment loan, repayable upon sale or refinance of the property, with repayment amount being the lesser of the assistance received or 50% of the home's equity at the time of sale or refinance.
