Not all builders are bust. New Company emerges from the ash.
South Jordan, September 23, 2009 – Candlelight Homes, a new DAI company, is a home builder with a unique history
and creative approach.
With the severe downturn Utah has experienced in the residential building industry, the last company you’d expect to be thriving in today’s deflated market is a new home building company. However, Joe Salisbury, principal for Candlelight Homes, thinks the timing couldn’t be better, “We’ve found a niche in acquiring foreclosed land from local banks. Our parent company, DAI, focuses on land development and understands the financial and logistic complexities associated with transforming land into subdivisions. Our unique strategy addresses banks’ immediate financial issues which have ultimately resulted in drastically reduced pricing on land for us. In turn, this enables us to offer substantially lower prices to our home buyers.”
Joe goes on to say, “Not only have we acquired deeply discounted land, but labor and building materials are less expensive right now than they’ve been in decades. These reductions in buildings costs, coupled with low interest rates and multiple government tax incentives, have allowed us to offer brand new homes for less than foreclosures.”
Joy Whitlock, recent Candlelight home buyer in Saratoga Springs, says, “My husband and I had been looking at foreclosures, for-sale-by-owners, and homes on the MLS for almost 8 months before finding Candlelight Homes. Because of my banking background, I have experience in the foreclosure process and know what to expect. What I didn’t expect was to find that I could build a brand new home with Candlelight, to my specifications, at approximately the same price I was finding foreclosures… and, without the headaches associated with the foreclosure process.”
Joy recently moved to Utah from Las Vegas and previously California where she built several homes, “The experience I’ve had with Candlelight Homes is like none other. I have been thoroughly impressed with the company in general, and specifically with the workmanship and ingenious ideas they have incorporated into our new home. We could not be happier with the craftsmanship of our home and the surprisingly pleasant process we’ve experienced building with Candlelight.”
Mark Mays of Woods Cross, discovered Candlelight Homes after spending nearly 6 months trying to find a home in the ‘short sale’ process, “Once we found Candlelight, in their Valentine Estates community, and learned that we could build a new home for the same price we were finding similar short-sales, it was a no brainer. I have been amazed with Candlelight’s scheduling software, streamlined processes, and response time. We feel like we found an opportunity to build a great home at a fantastic price.”
